Father’s Day is just around the corner, which means that some of us are firing up our grills to make bacon wrapped pork chops!
Still, as joyous as this occasion can be, we can’t help but take a moment of silence for those father-and-child relationships that have failed to come into fruition.
Our Director of Urban Outreach, Henry Flowers IV, expounds upon this loss with recent statistics provided by the Guttmacher Institute. For those of you who are unfamiliar with Guttmacher, it’s the research hand of Planned Parenthood. Which means that it only represents the 1,058,490 babies (2011) that were reported as legal abortions at the hands of Planned Parenthood – not accounting for the countless other abortion facilities across the nation and those that are committed illegally.
According to Guttmacher, their data shows that 75% of “abortion patients are disproportionately poor and low income,” and that 60% of those having abortions are young adults in their 20s.
Henry begs the question, “How many of those twenty-year-olds were raised without a father?” And he asks people to think about these harsh stats and how we, as a pro-life community, can help change the crimson tide of abortion.
